Berlin’s Monster Ronson teams up once again with commander-in-chief Marisa Sparkles for a third edition of their trademark glimmering debauchery, the Sparkle Army. As per their promo vid, expect a night full of “spaced-out sparkle disco, sparkle space sluts, and sparkly cocktails” — please be careful not to get a sequin lodged in your trachea. And be sure to show up in your very glitziest outfit, because they offer a €50,- bar tab prize to the best-dressed.

The party’s highlight will be a live set from Dutch Hi-NRG/electro duo Den Haan, known for their 12″ releases on respected dance labels Dissident and Supersoul, as well as their remixes for Hot Chip and Little Boots. Behind the DJ booth you’ll find SpaceLex, Emil Doesn’t Drive, Lendless and your hostessest with the mostessest Marisa Sparkles, who offers some of her dazzling insight below…

Expatriarch: New York City also has a history and culture of dance music and clubs, but legislation has dampened the liveliness in recent years. In this regard, what do you look forward to most about returning to the scene in Berlin?

Sparkles: I love coming to Berlin because people truly embrace fun and are open to everything… and I mean EVERYTHING! I also love that the party scene is still pretty hardcore here. It’s so damn refreshing to see people over 35 still living like it’s their last night on earth! NYC nightlife has certainly changed a lot, not only because of the legislation, but because of the ghastly trend of “bottle service” and the type of morons it attracts — I mean, who pays $600 for a $35 bottle of vodka?

You often opine the mantra “more is more”. Then how do you determine how much is too much?

I’ve never experienced that feeling.

What kind of breakthroughs in sparkle technology have you seen since last year’s installment of Sparkle Army?

Sparkle technology is developing at such a a fast pace I can hardly keep up! New cosmetic pigments, like Reflex, are developed contantly to brighten our faces, but now even pharmaceutical companies have jumped on the sparkle bandwagon. The FDA has recently approved sparkly, metallic and shimmery pigments for use in coating prescription meds… and while I don’t necessarily need any, I can’t wait to get my hands on some!

Are you familiar with the Vajazzler? Is this a procedure you’d consider having performed on yourself?

The Vajazzler is such a FABULOUS idea, however, I’m a bit old school… I prefer using a handful of glitter and sprucing up the hedges, ya dig?
