Our musical moratorium on the gender binary is killing itself off: the third and final ⅓ of the III-part trilogy happens this Friday, November 25th at Chez Jacki. As 2012 approaches, we anticipate not just the demise of our beloved venue Chez Jacki, but more important, the pivotal midpoint between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius, when feminine energies will reconcile ancient dichotomies and bring forth higher levels of consciousness.

Headlining the night will be Estonian-born, London-based artist Maria Minerva (above), singing electronic lullabies to our male-dominated society as it nods off into eternal rest. This performance marks her Berlin debut as she wraps up a 25-date European tour and releases a new 12” EP. Her recent LP issued by L.A. label Not Not Fun, Cabaret Cixous (name-checking French feminist philosopher Hélène Cixous), has puzzled reviewers at Pitchfork, who compared her production work with “soap scum” (a sly reference to Valerie Solanis’s manifesto?), and Resident Advisor, who described her as “half detached disco diva and half unstable weirdo all wrapped up in her own peculiar brand of breathless, gasping sexuality.”

Also on stage will be French Berliner act aMinus – notice the similarity to ‘animus’, Jung’s concept of the masculine unconscious within the female – who bring issues of gender and kidulthood into their energetic brand of electro-pop.

Parisian transplant duo Kaleid, a prismatic collision of wave and club influences emanating from synthesizers and a captivating voice, will perform as well.

Behind the DJ booth will be transgenre vinylist Joey Hansom (whose remix of Light Asylum’s “Dark Allies” was debuted last month on Altered Zones), schwul-gazers Jon Dark and Julie Chance of Kool Thing (who recently toured with Austra and remixed their “Beat and the Pulse”) and nihilist waver Petra Flurr (set to release his next album on Greece’s Fabrika Records).
