Joey Hansom

Joey is a shy Midwestern boy who studied at the University of Michigan’s School of Music, where he considered dropping out on a near-daily basis. His concurrent jobs at a record label and a radio station and his proximity to techno birthplace Detroit were all factors that prompted him to start DJing.

After gender reassignment surgery (brain only), Ms. Hansom ditched the U.S. for Berlin, where he can be heard playing disco, house, or basically any kind of dance music that has a semblance of melody or song structure. He also hosts Expatriarch Radio and lances freely as a writer and consultant.
